Basic concepts
The 24V LiFePO4 Rack Series Smart BMS is an intelligent battery management system specially designed for 24V lithium iron phosphate rack mount battery packs. It is like the "intelligent housekeeper" of the battery pack, which can monitor and manage the parameters of the battery in real time to ensure the safe, efficient and stable operation of the battery pack.
Key features:
Real-time monitoring
Voltage monitoring: Accurately monitor the voltage of each single cell in the battery pack, and can detect voltage abnormalities in time, such as overcharge or overdischarge. When the voltage of a single battery exceeds the normal range, the BMS will send an alarm to remind the user to take measures to avoid battery damage and ensure the service life of the battery pack.
Current monitoring: Continuously track the charging and discharging current of the battery to understand the working status of the battery. For example, during the charging process, monitor whether the charging current is stable to prevent excessive current from causing damage to the battery; At the time of discharge, judge whether the output power of the battery meets the needs of the equipment according to the current situation.
Temperature monitoring: real-time monitoring of the temperature of the battery, because the temperature has a great impact on the performance and safety of lithium iron phosphate batteries. When the battery temperature is too high, the BMS will initiate heat dissipation measures or limit the charging and discharging current to prevent the battery from overheating and causing safety problems.
Balanced management
Voltage equalization: Due to the differences between the battery cells, voltage inconsistencies may occur during charging and discharging. The BMS has the function of voltage balancing, which makes the voltage of each single cell consistent through active or passive balancing, and improves the overall performance and service life of the battery pack.
SOC (State of Charge) Balancing: Accurately estimate the SOC of each cell and adjust the balance to ensure that the power of each cell in the battery pack is evenly distributed, avoiding the situation that some cells are overused and others have too much power left.
Protection features
Overcharge protection: When the charging voltage of the battery pack reaches the set upper limit, the BMS will automatically cut off the charging circuit to prevent the battery from overcharging and avoiding the danger of bulging, burning and even explosion caused by overcharging.
Over-discharge protection: During the battery discharge process, once the battery voltage is detected to drop to the set lower limit value, the BMS will immediately stop discharging to protect the battery from over-discharge damage and prolong the service life of the battery.
Short-circuit protection: When the battery pack is short-circuited, the BMS can respond quickly and cut off the circuit in a very short time to prevent serious damage to the battery and equipment caused by high current, and ensure the safety of use.
Over-current protection: real-time monitoring of the battery's charging and discharging current, when the current exceeds the safe range, the BMS will take corresponding measures to limit the current to avoid damage to the battery and connected devices due to overcurrent.
